Development Poll

Prattle and quarrel about the fictional WW1 arcade air-battle game

Development time VS "extra" amount of content?

I don't care about the extra, just give us the game as soon as possible!

Well, some extra might be nice, considering it wouldn't take too long...

Quite frankly, I trust you guys on this one. Do what you must, and the rest will be history later on :)

Hey, there's always more room for some nice extra stuff. I'd love that!

Non-important context forever! I don't care even if I'm 60 years old when it's ready if it has some funky extras in it!

Players will be gone if first version is too poor. And this is a internet game (everybody have to be same version) so too many pach and people will be gone.

Patience fellers! We release it when it's done. And then it will be great.

If we release, say, in two weeks time, you guys would bury us alive.

Take your time to finish your game! Who would like to have the uncomplete version that would ruin the game? if there are not some important things in the game, how could you fix it with a patch?

Well it all depends...

Postby dekstar » Mon Jan 05, 2004 4:52 pm

On how the makers compile the game i suppose. If they go the easy way and Make seperate folders, one for say planes where they keep all the models etc. And another called Pilots where they keep the pilot data and so on, then it could be easy to make patches as you could just add more .Dat files to the "data" folder for instance. But as i just said, so i cant quote myself (:)) it all depends on how its compiled. Hehe, i sounded intellegent for a second there :D

Or perhaps every single file in the game will be included in the main program, and there will be no other files but a huge 100 mb+ file. That would be neat. I hate having too many files hanging around.
The post above should not be taken seriously.

True TZ, very true indeed

Lots of files means lots of defragging to do :D. I would prefere is Windows just had one BIG file in, that would mean that i wouldn't have to defrag as often :D

TZ, because why would you be on this forum if you hate triplane? of course maybe to spam, oh Dragst, you should read some of the gamehippo reviews of triplane lol... I mean there are loads of us (even me) who loved it and said stuff like "This is the best multiplayer game EVER!" and some even said "Hey, now that the team who made this split up, i am going to make my own version with internet play and everything!" And stuff hehe, and theres one guy i think who said "This is the worst game ever! Bad graphics bad sounds and really bad animations! I couldn't even gett he dammed thing to work" lol, which technically means that all the rest was false. And besides, the god reviews out number th bad ones, which all suck anyways... Good going! ROCK ON!

To explain my last rather useless post it just means that I like the way Triplane data-files were done.

Me liked that part very much when me reads the english, japanese and finnish mission briefings from the shareware-datafile and then tries desperately to use me's non-excisting haxoor skillz to open up the missing missions...
