Actually this has been discussed here already. Although it would be mighty cool to have a map editor, it would most likely further delay the release date. In addition, rumour has it that we'll be getting extra maps from the developers every now and then. So at the moment, it seems that we will not be getting a map editor.

Doesn't change the fact that it would be mighty cool, though. ;)

Oh and btw, whenever posting a poll, please include the question in the message as well :)

Yeah it might be good at some point, but not directly after release. It's only really useful if it was developed during the making of the main game.

That's a question - how WERE maps made? Surely Dragst had some sort of GUI map-builder?

As far as I know, the maps were made using a map editor. Which is pretty much the only reasonable way to do things anyway.

But the thing is, the map editor might not bee too user friendly. And the thing is, having a map editor could potentially lead to abuse of the ladder system, as players could make maps in which one player has unfair advantage over the others, thus allowing the player to gain vast amounts of points without breaking a sweat.

But Draconus can make the ladder so that only "offical" maps work, the others are just for fun. And if a custom map is good and even enough, then they will allow it to gain ranks in the ladder.

Even though it isn't user friendly, it probably is more efficient than a user friendly one. They could release it to us and until they can make it more user friendly, we can use it. Just like the developers :D.

We'll see. It's not too hard to use, it's just that it was never intended to public usage. I won't say that we'll never relelase it, but at least not in the beginning.

Also, sey has a point; probably only the "official" maps will be accepted into ladder system. We'll see :)

Well, even if we would have the map editor and a bunch of beautiful and balanced home made maps, I still don't think they'd be accepted for official ladder use. The thing is, the developers will probably have more than enough work without having to playtest some home made maps to be accepted as official ladder maps.
