Triplane II CD edition

Prattle and quarrel about the fictional WW1 arcade air-battle game

Would you be interested of ordering yourself a CD version of TT2, even if the material costs would probably raise the price slightly?

I doubt...

Postby dekstar » Wed Apr 28, 2004 6:47 pm

I doubt my mum would like it if a load of big breasted anime chicks on "cases" came in through our letter box (mainly because she would be surprised to see that they got throught the letter box - we don't have one). And i might be... shouted at... :D anyway, maybe on the inside cover yeah? :D So anyway, i am definately buying a CD copy, you can count on me dragst. Oh, as long as we can have as many offline profiles as we want, like cos my mate bryn doesn't want to buy it, but still wants to play offline on my copy? how many offline profiles can we have?

I don't think that would be a problem per se, since the box would be probably wrapped in brown postal wrapping paper (because somebody would most likely steal the game before it would reach you, on seeing the anime chicks on a triplane). And as I said before, the hot anime chicks would be there only in order to boost sales, and if customers would see the chicks only AFTER buying the game, what would be the point... Of course, you could have a huge red sticker on the box with the emblem "INCLUDES HOT ANIME CHICKS!!!" with similiar sales-boosting-effect, but I think the shouting effect would remain for you though... :P

That's a great idea Silveri. Not with the big red sticker thing, but imagine having your plane, and like being able to stick your own emblems on there! Wouldn't that be ace? I mean, one person could have... say, an anime chick on there (Sakura, she's cute) and then someone else could have a different one... would make it easier to see who your friend is, wouldn't it. Just a though, but seeing as how you are 90% complete, i wouldn't want to extend the game...

For once I agree with you on that plane-icon thing. Yes, I'd hugely like Draconus to implement that to TT2 (I remember suggesting it myself a couple of times), but I doubt it will be. :(

In the air it won't make a lot of difference, since the planes will be rather small and you wouldn't be able to distinguish it (and identifying your allies would best be done by their countries yes?), but it would be a nice touch, especially if it would be coupled with a personal avatar in the ladder (same as the emblem - naturally).

But naturally there will be those who would put poorly drawn phallic symbols, churchboats (sorry, finnish inside) or porn as their emblem (not that unhistorical actually - well.. in WW2 anyway), and how could these reasonably be moderated for offensive content?

I love the idea, but I'll love TT2 even without it.

Yeah, you better not except that in first version. Let's see what we come up with if the game sells well enough :)

Yeayea, I suggested that idea myself aswell (or atleast meant to suggest it, might have forgotten) but then I thought "heck, who needs them anyways". It would be kinda cool thou... just like your own flag and tombstone you could make in Worms Armageddon... Eww.. I have the perfect icon in mind...

I am still the first to say it im sure, considering i have looked all over these forums... :P so yeah, dragst, i would like to be the next TT's developer please :D I would do well, and wouldn't be needed to pay (that much), and i am practically always online, so that would make me a valuable contributer, and stuff...
